Quick workflow

A few good steps. One clean result.

Run rotation, metadata cleanup, page numbering and lossless compression in sequence. Save settings locally for next time.

How to use Quick workflow

  1. Open your document from your device.
  2. Adjust the settings and preview the result.
  3. Read text results on screen or download your file. Your original remains untouched.

Capabilities and limitations

Combine familiar PDF steps into one workflow

A repeatable workflow saves time when the same preparation steps are needed for several documents. Instead of downloading and reopening a file after every operation, you can apply the supported steps together and create a final result. This is useful for routine review packs and internal distribution copies where the intended changes are well understood.

SandboxPDF runs these operations locally. Your selected document remains in the browser’s processing environment, and the original file is not overwritten. Nevertheless, a combined operation deserves the same checking as separate operations. An output that opens successfully can still have the wrong page orientation, numbering position or privacy properties for its intended use.

Decide which changes belong together

Start by defining the result in plain language: for example, a distribution copy with supported metadata removed and visible page numbers added. Enable only the steps required for that result. More transformations do not automatically improve a document, and unnecessary changes make it harder to identify the cause if the output is not what you expected.

Order matters. Adding page numbers and removing metadata are different operations; neither is a substitute for redacting confidential content. A workflow that cleans supported metadata does not promise to remove every kind of hidden information from embedded images or visible page content. For highly sensitive material, use the dedicated sanitising or redaction tools, inspect their stated modes and verify the exported copy before sharing it.

Use a sample before processing important files

  1. Open a representative PDF and keep an untouched original. Include pages with the kinds of content you normally handle, such as tables, forms or mixed orientations.
  2. Select the supported workflow steps and their settings. Check page numbering text, placement and any other visible additions.
  3. Create the result and read any error message instead of assuming that a partially processed file is complete.
  4. Download the output, reopen it and check every intended transformation. Compare page count and key content with the original.
  5. Once the settings produce the expected result, repeat the workflow on other files and continue to inspect representative pages and exceptional layouts.

Make output checks specific

For visible additions, look for overlap with footers, signatures, tables and page edges. For metadata cleaning, inspect the output properties rather than checking only the rendered page. If the workflow includes an operation that rebuilds or flattens content, test whether search, form fields and links still behave as required. Preserve certificate-signed originals because modifying a signed document can invalidate its signature.

If a combined result is wrong, reproduce the operation using a small non-sensitive sample and enable one step at a time. This separates a source-document issue from a particular transformation or interaction between steps. A useful problem report names the selected operations, source page count, expected result and observed difference. The contact form accepts a description; it does not require uploading your confidential document.

For routine work on a phone or tablet, read the mobile PDF workflow guide before starting a large job. Browser memory, background-tab suspension and download locations can affect the practical experience even when the document operation itself is straightforward.

Frequently asked questions

Can a workflow use every tool on the site?

Only the operations exposed in the workflow settings are included. Use the dedicated tool pages when you need a feature or option that is not offered here.

Does the workflow overwrite my original?

No. It creates a separate output. Keep the source until you have reopened and checked the final downloaded file.

Does metadata cleaning remove confidential visible text?

No. Metadata and visible page content are different. Use permanent redaction for sensitive page regions and inspect the resulting file before sharing it.

Can I preserve an existing digital signature?

Do not assume a modified output retains a valid signature. Keep the signed original and perform any required signature validation separately.

How can I diagnose a failed combined result?

Try a small copy with one supported step enabled at a time. Record which setting produces the unexpected result, then use the contact form to describe the issue without sending sensitive content.
